This section provides advice, forms and templates for appointing board employees

If in doubt or want to discuss then contact  your NZSTA Adviser. In a state integrated school you may have special requirements when appointing staff, particularly to "tagged" positions.  Contact your proprietor, APIS or your NZSTA Adviser if you are not sure of your obligations.  Also the Handbook for Boards of Trustees of Catholic Schools contains information that may be useful to other integrated schools.   See also the payroll administrative agreement for the start of the 2009 year.

Before you start consider what sort of employment offer you are going to make, is it permanent or fixed term?

Identify employment types

Next make sure you use a standard application form for all appointments, here is a template for one  Note the application of "trial periods"
