The board must ensure that an emergency plan is prepared and it must include procedures for an effective response to an emergency. The plan should include processes in the event of a pandemic emergency.
The plan must include procedures for:
- notifying emergency services
- medical treatment and assistance, and
- effective communication during an emergency.
The board must also ensure that these procedures are tested and that information, training and instruction are provided to workers who’ll be responsible for implementing these procedures in an emergency.
Further information on emergency plans can be found in the Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016.
