Allowances and Payments

The information supplied below identifies the arrangements that are in place in relation to RTLB payments post 27 January 2012.

High Priority Teacher Supply Allowance (HPTSA)   Yes No retain as long as they continue to be located in a school that attracts such allowance
Maori Immersion Teacher Allowance (MITA)   No No if the RTLB no longer qualifies for this allowance, it will not be paid at the new lead school.  All MITA payments cease with effect 27 January each year and the new school will need to re-apply for this allowance to be paid in 2012.
3R (Recruitment, Retention & Responsibility) payment     No Subject to two months notice of withdrawal by ceasing employer
