Employment Conditions for Secondary and Area School Groundstaff 2013-2015

Secondary and Area School Groundstaff Individual Employment Agreement (IEA)
IEA for school groundstaff who are not union members but are covered by the terms and conditions of employment of the Secondary and Area School Groundstaff Collective Agreement.
Boards and a member of staff covered by the terms and conditions of the Secondary and Area School Groundstaff Collective Agreement may agree to vary the agreement's terms and conditions of employment. This is usually done to simplify the administration and operation of a school-based remuneration package, based on additional allowances or overtime entitlements.
In doing this, it is important that boards understand and adhere to the terms and conditions of the school based variations as outlined in the Secondary and Area School Groundstaff Collective Agreement clause 1.4.2
Boards should check:
- Is there a school level variation in place for that individual?
- Has the variation been agreed in writing and signed by the employee, employer and a representative of the union?
- If the variation has been made verbally can this variation now be recorded in writing, and signed by the employer, employee and a representative of the union?
- Does the variation clearly specify the individual elements of an employee's remuneration package, if not what would these elements be?
