Investing in Educational Success (IES)

What is it?

Investing in Educational Success (IES) is a government initiative to help raise the learning and achievement of all our children and young people, particularly students at most risk of underachieving.  It focuses on tools and resources that will help build teaching capability.  IES includes:

Communities of Learning

Resources are being provided to enable schools to form groups of schools (Communities of Learning) to work together on shared achievement challenges. Three new roles are created which will contribute to meeting the achievement challenges in each Community.

Principal Recruitment Allowance (PRA)

Schools facing significant issues concerning student achievement which has a principal vacancy can apply to advertise with a PRA allowance of $50,000 to help recruit an experienced principal who can provide the leadership needed to lift student achievement.

Teacher-led Innovation Fund (TLIF)

The TLIF supports teams of teachers to develop and share innovative practices that improve learning outcomes.
