NZSTA Professional development
Effective boards commit to, and plan for, ongoing improvement in their governance performance. This involves every trustee, and every board, committing to an annual professional development plan based on individual trustee and board identified needs. Whether this is understanding the board's roles and responsibilities, setting the strategic direction of the school, or monitoring student progress and achievement NZSTA has the professional development solution for you.

What can I expect?
All NZSTA professional development is delivered by a group of high quality experienced providers. Professional development and support opportunities will be delivered at no cost to you or your board.
Participant numbers are limited at every workshop to ensure all trustees have the opportunity to be involved in discussions, and ask topical questions relevant to their or their board's needs.
You will leave each workshop with detailed and easy to understand nationally consistent resources, along with details for continued support.
An effective board is one where every member is engaged and contributing fully across these four critical aspects of governance
NZSTA member boards
Support will continue to be provided to NZSTA member boards through regional and national conferences, forums, and networking opportunities. You can register for membership events.
NZSTA trustee accreditation
If you have a minimum of three years experience as a trustee on an NZSTA member board, consider becoming a NZSTA Accredited Trustee to demonstrate your commitment to governance, and ability to provide assistance to other boards.
