NZSTA Trustee Accreditation Process
NZSTA offers trustees from member boards the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to strengthening school governance by becoming an NZSTA Accredited Trustee.
The aim of the NZSTA Trustee Accreditation Process is to support and strengthen school governance in New Zealand State and State Integrated Schools and is in accordance with NZSTA's strategic professional development statement:
"To up-skill boards for effective governance outcomes"
Why become an accredited trustee?
- Show your community that you have the required skills to be an effective trustee at election time
- Be listed on the NZSTA database of trustees available to be co-opted or selected
- Demonstrate your ability as a trustee to the Ministry of Education, and as a potential resource in providing assistance to other boards, e.g. as a mentor, commissioner or LSM for another board
- Provide evidence of your experience as a trustee to use towards further directorships.
A database of Accredited Trustees will be maintained in the members' area of the NZSTA website.
