Nau mai, welcome to the world of school governance and trusteeship.

It may seem rather daunting to start, with all the terms and processes which can seem so foreign and difficult to grasp, but we have good news! We are here to help and support you and your board of trustees.

Explore our website; its packed with information, resources, learning modules and even videos designed to upskill and enable trustees and boards in their crucial role so that all our students are given the best possible opportunities to reach their individual highest possible potential in education.

We also offer one-on-on professional development and support to boards in governance and employment areas, along with a nationally delivered series of workshops - start with Governance Essentials in your region.

Boards are encouraged to have a policy framework that clearly defines the roles of governance and management and the expectations of these relationships.

The Making a difference: Trustee Handbook is specifically designed to give those new to the role an overview of key aspects of a trustee’s role.

The commitment you have made to trusteeship carries with it a responsibility to perform this role to the highest possible level have a look at the Trusteeship Guide
