We’re looking for a talented, high-energy person to deliver HR and Employment Relations advice and support to Principals and School Boards.
Who are we?
New Zealand School Trustees Association (NZSTA) is a not for profit and membership-based national organisation representing the interests of its member boards.
NZSTA is the most influential leader of effective school governance in Aotearoa, embodying the intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Its vision is to lead and strengthen school governance in New Zealand to ensure that all schools are effectively governed so that every student realises their highest possible educational potential.
Reporting to the Director Service Delivery, you will be a seasoned employment professional with experience working in a fast paced and changing environment supporting multiple stakeholders.
As Regional Advisor Employment, you will partner with school leaders across the full raft of school environments. You will deliver end to end HR solutions, advice and support. Any day could see you advise on relationship building techniques, recruitment, performance management, conduct issues, health and safety or co-design a restructure proposal or attend mediation. A truly diverse role.
In addition to problem solving via robust processes, you will be involved in designing and delivering workshops aimed at problem prevention and best practice management of all things HR and Employment Relations.
The role places you as the conduit between Principals (as CEOs of schools) and unions on a regular basis, enabling you to demonstrate your strong relationship building skills.
You will be surrounded with supportive HR and employment law talent, both as part of a national team and as part of a regional team of 12. The culture is an open one of asking questions, sharing areas of expertise and learning and growing together, ensuring quality and consistency of advice.
What we’re looking for:
Our office is in Christchurch Central and there is flexibility to work from home. There will be regular travel required to support schools throughout Canterbury and neighbouring regions. A work vehicle will form part of your remuneration package.
If you want to join a team where you will be exposed a full variety of different experiences, have some fun and make an impact in the education of children in Aotearoa, then this is the role for you!
High – Expectations | High – Trust | High – Transparency | High – Accountability
If you're excited by the opportunity to join a team who are passionate about strengthening school governance in Aotearoa, then don't delay in applying.
