Dear Valued Members

COVID-19 implications for NZSTA 2020 Board and President elections

As you know voting for the NZSTA Board and President Elections commenced on 9th March 2020.  Effective from the 26th March 2020, the New Zealand Government made the announcement that the country would be placed in locked down due to the impact of or COVID-19.

Following a review of voter participation and to ensure an effective democratic process, the deadline for members to vote has now been extended from 28 April 2020 to midday 28th May 2020.

For the NZSTA election voting process, votes are able to continue to be submitted electronically which provides a viable alternative to the postal options.  For those schools / boards who have chosen or who choose the postal system, the returning officer has the ability to obtain NZSTA mail three times a week (under essential access to building requirements) to ensure that any votes are received and processed effectively and efficiently.

Voting forms may be found here

If you have any questions please contact the Returning Officer on bpelections2020@nzsta.org.nz in the first instance.
