Pay Equity Notification

There have been a number of pay equity claims raised by NZEI Te Riu Roa to the Ministry of Education in light of last year’s Pay Equity Act 1978 amendments. The latest claims currently in process are for school librarians and library assistants, and school therapists. 

Below are five documents for your information, which include a letter for Principals, a letter for employees concerned, and two fact sheets about each pay equity claim.

Please note that all employers are legally obligated to inform the employees affected of the current pay equity claim process, and employees are given the option to opt out should they choose to do so.
